Who We Are

American Arbor was built on a simple belief: the way you do the work matters just as much as the work itself.

Owner Levi Thompson grew up in Starkville, Mississippi, spending as much time outside as he could. It wasn’t long before that love of the outdoors turned into a love for climbing trees and learning the trade. Over the years, Levi worked alongside experienced crews and contract climbed for tree companies throughout the region, building the skill, experience, and perspective that would eventually shape American Arbor.

All along, he had a vision for building something of his own and a conviction about how it should be run.

“Whatever you do, do it unto the Lord.”

For Levi, that isn’t just a slogan. It’s the standard American Arbor is measured against.

He started American Arbor to build the kind of tree company he would want to hire for his own family: one that prioritizes safety, does the job right the first time, tells the truth even when a lie would be easier, and treats every customer’s property with the same care he would want for his own.

Because when a tree is leaning toward a house or a heavy limb hangs over a roof, it’s more than a landscaping concern. It’s a homeowner wondering whether their home, their vehicle, or their family is at risk. Those decisions deserve to be handled by professionals you can trust.

Levi sees the skill he’s developed through years of climbing, cutting, and working alongside experienced arborists as something he’s been given, and that shapes the way he uses it: to provide for his family, serve his community, and honor God through his work.

We’re here to do good work, take care of people, and do it all with purpose.
